The Seiko SRPE05 is a Seiko Prospex Automatic Diver in the cushion-shaped case collectors call the “Turtle”, first introduced on Seiko's 1976 divers. It is a 200-meter diver's watch with a unidirectional bezel, screw-down crown and LumiBrite for low-light legibility.

This reference features a khaki-green pressed-pattern dial and black ceramic bezel. Inside is the Seiko caliber 4R36 automatic with hand-winding, hacking seconds, day/date display and about 41 hours of power reserve. You also get a 45mm case, sapphire crystal with date magnifier, 200m water resistance and khaki-green silicone strap.

See the SRPE05 in person at Chicago Clock Company in Clarendon Hills (431 E Ogden Ave), Orland Park (14486 LaGrange Rd) and Palatine (1615 N Rand Rd). We have been family-owned since 1917, and our watch technicians handle Seiko battery replacement, band changes and repair after the sale.

FAQ
What movement is in the Seiko SRPE05?
The SRPE05 runs on the Seiko caliber 4R36 automatic with hand-winding, hacking seconds, day/date display and about 41 hours of power reserve.
Is the Seiko SRPE05 water resistant?
Yes. It carries a 200-meter diver's rating, so it handles swimming, snorkeling and recreational scuba. Keep the screw-down crown fully closed in the water.
Why do collectors call this Seiko a “Turtle”?
The nickname comes from the rounded cushion case first used on Seiko's 1976 divers, which looks like a turtle shell from the side. It is a collector nickname; Seiko lists these models as Prospex Automatic Divers.
Where can I buy the Seiko SRPE05 near Chicago?
Chicago Clock Company carries it online and in our showrooms in Clarendon Hills (431 E Ogden Ave), Orland Park (14486 LaGrange Rd) and Palatine (1615 N Rand Rd).
